Teeth Whitening Gel : Homemade

Yes, you can make your own teeth whitening gel. It’s perfectly safe and will most definitely fit your budget ! Here is your simple at home recipe in 3 steps :

• Find in your kitchen :

You will need the same ingredients as the professional kits, but in a very much more simplified way.  You can try it now, you probably have this stuff at home. First, your little brown bottle of hydrogen peroxide, the main ingredient in tooth whitening. Your bottle has a 3% concentration of peroxide, and the commercial kits have around 10 % to 20 % peroxide, so please don’t expect the same fast results !

Then sodium bicarbonate, your kitchen baking powder, known for many uses : deodorize your refrigerator to your kitty litter, wash marble floors to coffee cups, treats stains on cloths and can soften your skin. And of course, baking powder will brighten your teeth !

The third ingredient, the one that will glue everything together, is glycerin. Glycerin has a texture between oil and Vaseline, is odorless and very sweet tasting. It is very easy to find at your local pharmacy.

• Mix :

The easiest way to use this method is to mix together the baking powder and glycerin. Start with one teaspoon of baking powder with a few drops of glycerin. Mix until you get a paste. Use your peroxide in a separate glass.

• Brush  :

Dip your toothbrush in the peroxide, then in the paste and brush over your teeth. The rinse with the peroxide.

The results will be gradual, witch is good when you want control on the whitening. But if you want a more drastic change, you need a commercial whitening kit or a professional dentist treatment. This is not in everybody’s price range, but homemade teeth whitening will definitely fit anyone’s budget.
